Third Day with Fujitsu Lifebook U2010 (Screen & Battery Life)

Screen - Touch Screen??
Screen Resolution is really good. Visible under sunlight!! View angle is improved.
However, I (and other members) has discovered that when we change the resolution other than 1280 x 800,
the touchscreen position will no longer valid. It will keep the alignment in 1280 x 800!!
Even you re-calibrated the alignment, there is no use in other resolution!!
I think there are some bugs on it!!


Detail Battery Life Test
As I mentioned before my preliminary test on the battery life on video and WiFi surfing was ~3 hours, now I have performed more reliable result!! (the previous results were not performed continuously and it was just a sum-up battery life)

(A) Highest Brightness, Largest Volumn, rmvb movie clip (CUP loading 50~80%), WiFi on connected to router, High Performance mode
Start at 21:45; End at 23:31 (10% left). i.e 1hr 46min (106min)


(B) Middle Brightness (Level 4), Middle Volumn, MP4 movie clip (CUP loading ~40%), WiFi on connected to router, Power saving mode
Start at 12:15; End at 14:45 (10% left). i.e. 2hr 30min (150min)


Then, that means the 20Wh battery translate to 11.4W drain in Test (A) and 8W drain in Test (B)! It is still reasonable for a 1.6GHz processor! Hopefully I may have enough time to test on WiFi surfing continuously for 3 hours.


Movie Playback
I have tested several video formats (with media player classic + codec) including rmvb, mp4, avi (mp4), wmv (720p) and wmv (1080p). Low resolution rmvb, mp4 and avi have no problem. rmvb will have a little bit lap! (but I think it is due to Vista, aigo MID using Z500 playing smoothly on same video). 720p and 1080p could not be played smoothly!! There is no evidence to show me that Polusbo has hardware acceleration on HD video playback!! Intel, tell me why?? Do I have some upgrade missed? Vista SP1 not enough? Or Fujitsu, did you put something wrong on U2010? Or MS, have you made Vista in a wrong direction? Answer answer answer!!!

I will try to put some video recording on movie playback on youtube later!



Actually, I have performed CrystalMark and HDTune on U2010.
However, I better keep these result on tomorrow, it is 1:52am in Hong Kong. I better go sleep now~~~ZZZZzzzzz
